• Notes

  Possibly Scottish? William bought his first farm in Friendship (now Davilla), Texas. Then moved to Rockdale where Ima grew up. All of Mamaw's family "was in Texas before the Alamo". His death certificate, signed by Uncle Willie, says his mother's name was Sally Brendell. (Medical):One of the stories I was told about Grandpa Will was that he died of "Rocky Mountain spotted tick fever". All my young life, I had this vision of him sitting down under a tree, getting bitten by a tick and dying there. He actually died at Shepperds Hospital in Burnet.
