William Henry "the Colonel" Mellen (grandson of William Pepperell, son of Granville who was killed during the Battle of the Seven Pines in 1862) and his wife Mary Elisee "Lizzie" Mouton. She is a daughter of Jean J Mouton and Marie E Baraud and a grandneice of Alexandre Mouton, Governor of Louisiana from 1843-1845.

Mrs. Lizzie Mellen. She died 17 Nov. 1921 in Galveston, Galveston Co.,Texas. Date of birth is listed as 22 Jan 1867 and birthplace is listed as Lafayette, La. Father is listed as C.J.Mouton (this is not correct - should be Jean Jacque - JJ). Birthplace of her father was listed as unknown. Mother's name was listed only as "Emily". Again, Mrs. E.J.Fivel was the informant. Lizzie Mouton Mellen was buried at Cahill Cemetery on 18 Nov 1921. F.P. Malloy and Son took care of the arrangements. Lizzie died of Arteriosclerosis & Hemiplegia and was contributed by Hypostatic pneumonia. Lizzie was 54 yrs. old at the time of her death. She was a housewife and was listed as married at the time of her death. W.H. Mellen ordered the arrangements to be made.
