Barrow 'Gunman' is Held in West
Hardee D. Brazzil Surrenders--Says He Committed Many Robberies
Los Angeles, Sept. 14--(AP)--A man who gave his name as Hardee D. Brazzil, 37, and who said he had been a member of the Bonnie Parker-Clyde Barrow gang of bank robbers in Texas a decade ago, surrendered to police today with th remark, "my conscience is bothering me."
Detective Lieutenant Guy Rudolph to whom Brazzil surrendered, quoted the man as saying: "I've committed so many robberies in Texas and Oklahoma I've lost count of them." He was booked as a robbery fugitive from Texas.
      Says Hamilton was a Pal
Lieutenant Rudolph said Brazzil told him he had been a pal of Raymond Hamilton, a member of the same gang, who was executed in Huntsville, Texas prison.
In May 1934, Barrow and Bonnie Parker, his cigar-smoking sweetheart, were killed in a gun battle with a sheriff's posse and Texas Rangers 50 miles east of Shreveport, La., after the officers set an ambush. Barrow, only 24 at the time, was charged with 12 murders.
Riinard B. Hood, in charge of the Los Angeles FBI office, said he had wired his Washington headquarters asking whether any federal charges were pending against Brazzil.
