Ben died on Sunday, Sep 23 1917.] 1917 Aged Minister Killed in Motor Accident Struck when he attempted to board a Street Car, Rev Mahurin is hurt? fatily Benjamin G Mahurin 88 years old of Garfield Ark, A Minister in the Primitive Baptist Church, died at St. Johns hospital on Friday morning, as a result of Injuries he died at 3 o'clock Sun? afternoon. The Rev was struck by a Motor Car driven by Buford Wilson 17 years old at the corner of 3rd & Main St. Mahurin was on the North side of the St. He had started across to board a St Car with a chum Cecil Stemp was traveling West on 3rd. Apparently Neither the occupants of the car nor Mahurin saw _____. An axle of the car struck Mahurin. Rev Mahurin was thrown violently to the ground. His head received the force of _____ _____ fracturing his skull. He was _____ in St Josephs hospital in the Hu___bert Ambulance. Coroner R M James investigated the case? Yesterday afternoon, after hearing the evidence of all witnesses he said seath was the result of an accident. Mr. Mahurin was here visiting his Grandson, Carl McVicker No. 2018 Harlem Ave. & other relatives. He had lived in Garfield since he was 9 yrs. old, or since 1838. As a result of his residence in Benton County, he was one of the Most Widely Known Men in that section. Sons Neil, Enoch & Charles arrived in town Saturday Morn & took charge of the burial. Enoch was sent to Garfield last nite with the _____. The Funeral will take place _____ _____.
