I don't know why her name changed from Neana to Neeley after her marriage. The census records name her Neana or Neanah with her parents but her descendants never knew her as anything but Neeley so I have named her Neeley Neana.

Tell Perkin to come see me when he comes to see Honey and Esther. Husband almost died. Gall bladder burst 12/20/67 and scar tissue wrapped around intestines and blocked it in January. Was in the hospital seven weeks. Bobby (my son) lives in Channelview. Albert is in Pennsylvania, Honey is in Houston. Sonny (the baby) is in Japan in the Air Force. He married a Korean girl and has a baby girl one year old. I am 65 now, drawing old age pension - tell Robert it doesn't go far. (he and I used to talk about what we would do with our pensions.)

NEELEY ARMSTRONG
Funeral services for Neeley Armstrong, 86, of Rt. 6, Henderson, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Adams officiating.
Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Mrs. Armstrong died at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in Henderson Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 30, 1896, in Nacogdoches County and was an 80-year resident of Rusk County. She was the widow of Ruben Armstrong and was a member of the Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include five sons, Robert L. Armstrong, Elzie D. Armstrong, Harold P. Armstrong, George A. Armstrong and Pete Armstrong, all of Henderson; two daughters, Mrs. Nettie Mae Green of Henderson and Mrs. Irene Johnson of Rt. 3 Henderson; one brother, Lawrence Mills of Henderson; 32 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Loyd Armstrong, Charlie Armstrong, Robert Wayne Armstrong, Jack Green, Ricky Armstrong and Harold Armstrong, Jr.

Emma McKinnon is the daughter of John McKinnon and Frances White. She was born in Texas, probably in northern Nacogdoches County. She started having seizures in middle age and, in about 1931, Emma boarded a train in East Texas that carried her to Abilene where she walked to the State Hospital and admitted herself. She and daughter, Neeley wrote many letters until her epilepsy-related death.

(Medical):Emma was epileptic and had 4 children who did not live.

Died:
She was an epileptic and went to live at the hopital. Dad never knew either of his grandmothers.

There are McKinnons in McNairy Co, TN in 1850. There is a Norman McKinnon in Knoxville in 1876-77. Many McKinnons in Richmond/Scotland Co, NC in 1840.

The first church was built on land donated by a Mr. John McKinnon. Not much is known of this church. Except for the foregoing data, no known records exist. It is known that at about the time the church should have been growing, some of its members left this area and settled in Georgia, Alabama and Florida.

There is a family in Haywood, TN, in 1860.

Funeral is Held for McKinnon Baby
The three-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer McKinnon was buried Saturday afternoon in Lakewood Memorial Park, with Rev. J. N. Phillips, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating.
The baby, the only child, died Friday in Dallas, where he had been taken about a week ago for treatment. He had been ill only a short time.

Drewry Jr. ALDRIDGE was married to Edith HARDY about 1786 in Dobbs County, North Carolina. Edith HARDY was born in 1768 in Dobbs County, North Carolina. She died before 1810 in Greene County, North Carolina. Drewry, Jr. ALDRIDGE and Edith HARDY had the following children:
i. Drewry, III. ALDRIDGE was born about 1787 in Dobbs County, North Carolina. He died in Texas. Moved to Texas via Ga with brothers Lemuel and Jesse
Seems that Drewry III sold his property on Bear Creek, Greene County, NC and moved to Baldwin County, GA. Where his cousin Thomas B Aldridge, Jr. lived. This was around 1818. He found a wife there, then moved to Jackson County, Alabama. His children were born in Alabama but then he moved to Nacogdoches, Texas.
It is said that Drewry Jr rode his horse twice to Texas to see his children and grandchildren.
ii. Lemuel Hardy ALDRIDGE was born about 1789 in Dobbs County, North Carolina. He died in Texas.
