    Obituary:

    Funeral services for Mrs. James S. Barron were held at the home last Thursday with Rev. Dewey of the Christian Church in charge, and the remains were buried in the Correctionville Cemetery. Though Mrs. Barron had suffered for several months and her friends realized that there was little hope for her recovery, the final end came as a shock to the entire community. She was a member of the Christian Church and had devoted considerable time to the work of the church.
    Mary E. Coon was born at Spring Green, Wisconsin, January 31, 1855, and was married to James S. Barron in that state October 28, 1874. After three years spent in Wisconsin they moved to Iowa. A few years later they moved to Gordon, Nebraska, living there until 1898 when they moved back to Iowa.
    Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Barron with five having preceded her in death, leaving to mourn besides her husband, her children Earnest E. Barron of Yankton, South Dakota, Treva M. Hahn of Dupree, South Dakota, Charles A. Barron of Faith, South Dakota, Irving I. Barron of Iowa City, Iowa, Eva Pixler of Portland, Oregon, William J. Barron of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Anna C. Rogers of Bancroft, South Dakota.

    Obituary:

    Mr. Abraham Coon died at his home, near Gordon, Sheridan county, Neb., July 9, 1886. He was born in Ohio, September 7, 1820.
    He, with his parents, moved to Indiana when a boy. After residence there of a number of years, he went to Wisconsin; thence to Iowa, and in the spring of 1886 moved to Sheridan county, Neb.
    The funeral services were held at his home. Many friends paid their last tribute of respect by their attendance at the funeral. He was laid to rest south of town on the school section. May the bereaved relatives, wife and children find many friends to comfort them in their sad bereavement.

    Mrs. Cornelia Coons, age 73 years, 3 months, and 19 days.
    Grandma Coons was born in Ohio. The most of her life was spent in Wisconsin. She reared a large family, who are now living in different parts of the country, one of them at Eugene, Oregon, where she expected to visit her son in two or three days when she was taken sick. Grandma Coons died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.L. Davis.
    The funeral services were held in the Christian church on the 4th of July, at 10:00 o'clock a.m. which were conducted by the pastor of that church, assisted by Elder Scamhorn.
    Grandma Coons was a kind and affectionate mother, a good neighbor, and an earnest Christian worker.
