Surname: Cornelison, King, Cagle, Boling, Bolling, Yow -------------------------
I have Rebecca King (Abt 1775- Abt 1850) married to John Cornelison. Letter from son Goodman and Tempy Corenlison in Montgomery Co., NC to brother Garrett (Jarrett) Cornelison in Cherokee Co., GA mentions many tidbits on relations to Rebecca King and Rachel Boling. Those mentioned are:
    1. Uncle Boling King (supposed brother to Rebecca King) and family are well at this time...Nathaniel (?) is living with him. Cummings King(husband to half-sister Arpy Cornelison) has paid his debts... William King (Cummings' brother) is dead... died of a cancer.
    2. Charles Boling (possible nephew of Rachel Boling Cagle, wife of Peter Cagle) and family are doing well as common. Agnes, his daughter is married to Robertson Yow (note: likely Elisha Robinson Yow, s/o Henry Yow).
    3. Gardner Boling (age 82, b. 1768, in 1850 census, brother of Rachel Boling Cagle)is well and as peart as common. He lives with William Cagle (age 44 in 1850 census, probable nephew of Peter Cagle) yet.
I wonder about all these folks in Montgomery Co., NC. The source for the letter are the 1970 Cagle book by Rev. Charels Walker and a 1999 book by John G. Cagle of Little Rock.
LDS lists Boling King (1783-1863) as brother to Rebeckah King (1777 NC - abt. 1850). The 2 are among 9 children of Peter and Susannah (Bolling) King. Peter is s/o Johnston King (abt. 1724 NC - Abt 1793). Johnston is s/o Peter King (Abt. 1698 NC- 1763).
Also, following back for Susannah Bolling (5 Dec 1764 VA) was d/o Alexander Bolling and Susanna Bolling (16 Jun 1728 Pr. George, VA) who married 23 Dec 1745 in VA. Alexander (12 Mar 1721 Pr. George, VA D: 11 Jun 1767 VA) was s/o Stith Bolling and Elizabeth Hartwell. Susanna Bolling (1728 VA)was d/o Robert Bolling, Jr. (17 Jan 1682 Kippax, VA) and Mary Anne Cocke.
Stith Bolling and Robert Bolling, Jr. were brothers. Both were sons of Robert Bolling, Sr. Robert Bolling, Sr. was married twice. One wife was Jane Anne Stith and the other wife was Jane Rolfe. Jane Rolfe was granddaughter of Wanamoaka, who was daughter of Chief Powhatan. Wanamaoka was also known as Pocahontas. Pocahontas was named Rebecca by the English.
I know that the names Rebecca and Powhatan follow through many generations within the Boling/Bolling families.
Would like some discussion on the connections with these lines...Cornelison, King, Cagle, Boling/Bolling.

    Notes:

"Revolutionary Incidents and Sketches of Character Chiefly in the 'Old North State'" by Rev. E. W. Caruthers, D. D. 1854 & 1856.
    p. 104. " A man, by the name of John Cornelison, who lived near the gold and silver mines in Davidson County, was killed in his own house, and in a manner which indicated great barbarity. When several of them went in and fell upon him with clubs and swords, he got back under the mantlepiece, when they shot him down, and he fell into the fire; but his wife pulled him out. Next morning, Mrs Ann Briggs, the mother-in-law of Jacob Goss, Esq. who was originally a Miss Collins, from the neighborhood of Wilmington, went over and saw the body of Cornelison. The hearth was deluged with blood, and the house presented a most frightful scene. The man who shot Cornelison was known, and Cornelison had a relation by the name of Spirey, who was determined to revenge his death. He pursued the Tory who shot Cornelison, and followed his trail into Tennessee. At length he reached the house of a woman who was a relation of his; and thinking himself out of danger, he stopped there for the night; but Spirey was there and, with the stealthiness of an Indian, was watching the house, when he heard the murderer tell his relation, the mistress of the house, that he would pull off his clothes to sleep; for he had not had them off since leaving North Carolina. While he was stripping and preparing for bed; Spirey, being certain of his man, run the muzzle of his gun through a crack or opening between the logs, and shot him dead. Spirey then returned to his home in North Carolina; and this affair was the last of the kind that occured during the struggle for independence. Such scenes present to us the horror of civil war in a strong light, and while they were the price of our liberties, they should serve as a perpetual warning to guard, most vigilantly and strenuously, against everything of the kind to the end of time."

    Notes:

The children and marriages in these generations of this family are so sketchy that I cannot truthfully say that any of this is fact. Each researcher gives a different opinion. Conrad and Cornelius are especially embroiled in doubts and wonderment.
In Nancy Roberts' book, she says that Cornelius is the father of Garrett, Ann, John, William, and Andrew by an unknown first wife. She gives his second spouse as Margaret.
She says Conrad is the father of Garrett, Hannah, Anne, Jonathan, John, Conrad, Andrew, and William by Anne. Anne was named in Conrad's will.
