- I found a US Army Camp Reed mentioned in a letter but I'm not sure of its exact location nor of the cemetery. It seems that the camp was usually called Jackson and the camp was moved to LaGrange in March of 1863. Supposedly the graves were moved to Corinth National in 1869.
The VA has a listed burial for George W Toply but there is no cemetery listed, just TOPLY, GEORGE W PVT BURIED AT: SECTION D SITE 1229. I guess there is no way to find out if this is our George. There is also a George A Topliff at Leavenworth but there are no dates and he was in the 18th Inf.
