Burt L. Luce, 84, of Joplin, Mo., a retired oil field pumper, died this morning at the Sarah Watson Nursing home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Knell Mortuary in Carthage, MO, with burial in Park cemetery at Carthage. Dietz-Pittman Funeral home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Luce had lived in the El Dorado and Joplin, MO, areas for the past 20 years. He was born May 10, 1884, at Madison, S.D.
Surviving are three sons, E. J. Luce of Los Angeles, Calif., George W. Luce, 616 Frazier street and Glenn L. Luce, 917 South Summit Street, a daughter, Mrs. Helen Corder, of Kansas City, MO, and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hartley of Carthage, MO, and Mrs. Pearl Burnett.
Mr. Luce was preceded in death by his wives, the former Joanna Walker and the former Maggie Osborn, and by a brother, Arthur Luce.
