    GALVESTON ? Mrs. Beulah Catherine Heffernan, 85, a housewife, died Monday at her residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica in Galveston, Monsignor C. J. Alleman officiating and Burial will follow services at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston, under the direction of Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel.
    Mrs. Heffernan was born Dec. 22, 1899, in Galveston, and was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Church. She also was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
    She is survived by her husband, Joseph Patrick Heffernan of Galveston; her daughter, Josephine Ida Phipps of Galveston; her son, Joseph Hartnett; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be Joseph Hartnett Jr., John Hartnett, James Hartnett, Jack Heffernan, James Heffernan and Leo Mencacci. Visitors may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.

    Mr. Hartnett was born March 13, 1915, in Galveaton and retired after 35 years as a crane operator with The Galveston Wharves. Mr. Hartnett was also a charter member of the Galveston Industries Federal Credit Union. He is preceded in death by his daughter Kathryn Sue Hartnett. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 60 years, Cecilia Hartnett of Galveston, Texas. Survivors include his sons, Joseph D. Hartnett Jr., and wife, Elizabeth of La Marque, Texas, John P. Hartnett and James E. Hartnett and wife, Shaula of Round Rock, Texas. Mr. Hartnett is also survived by his two half sisters, Josephine Heffernan Phipps of Galveston, Texas and Margaret Hartnett, also of Galveston, and his three half brothers, David Hartnett of La Marque, Texas, Thomas Hartnett of La Marque, Texas and Edmund Hartnett of Rock Port, Texas. Also left to cherish memories are his eight loving grandchildren and nine great grand children, and his favorite niece, Patsy Phipps Judia. Pallbearers will be Paul Judia, Mike Hartnett, Lee Gathman, John R. Hartnett, Joseph D. Hartnett HI, Chris Hartnett, Mark Ross and JeffDuckworth.     Josephine Ida Heffernan Phipps, 91, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014, at her residence. She was born January 18, 1923, a BOI and lifelong resident of the island. Josephine graduated from Ursuline Academy and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Church.
    Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Phipps; brother, Joseph Hartnett; and daughter, Patsy Phipps.
    She is survived by her grandson, PJ Judia; nieces, Gigi Heffernan and Elizabeth Hartnett; and sister-in-law, Cele Hartnett.
    Her family will receive visitors beginning at 1 pm, Monday, February 10th, at Sacred Heart Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 2 pm at the church with entombment following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Bob Ford, Wade Waege, John Gonzalez, and Joseph Andrews.

    Patricia (Patsy) Ann Phipps, 68, of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at The Meridian.
    Her family will receive visitors beginning at 12:00 NOON, Monday, June 10th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with funeral mass beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery.
    Patsy was born December 26, 1944, in Galveston, Texas. She graduated from Ursuline Academy and taught dancing from 1961-2008, owning her own dancing school, the Patsy Phipps School of Dance. She also taught the O'Connell Bucco Bells at O'Connell High School. Patsy touched many children's hearts and minds throughout her many years of teaching dance. She loved dance, poems, and watching the waves on the beach.
    Patsy is survived by her son, PJ Judia; and mother, Josephine Phipps.
    Pallbearers will be Kirk Ford, Bob Ford, John Gonzalez, David Guerrero, Roy Peque?o, and Kelly Finn.
