She was one of thirteen children born to George W. Langley and Ida Ivy. I have some additional info on some of them. I belive she died in 1962 and is buried in Carizzo Springs, Tx. [Big Wells or St. Michaels?]

Notes:

Harvey was a radio DJ and people-person. He enjoyed his celebrity functions but he also enjoyed "tinkering" with projects around the house. After growing up in an orphanage, he joined the Army and was stationed in Colorado where he met the love of his life. When his hitch was up, the young couple and their two babies moved back to Texas where they added two more sons and lived the rest of their lives in a small town between Houston and Galveston.

Dale was funny, talented, and intelligent. He played a harmonica and drums and was good at impersonations. He could build a surfboard or a motorcycle and rode both very well. He got his commercial driver's license at age 18 in a tiny Datsun pickup but could drive dump trucks and other equipment with ease. He had a knack for telling stories in a way that made us roll with laughter. He was a good friend and fierce protector. His first car was a small Simca (look it up) and his first motorcycle was a second-hand Sears 106. He was one of the coolest guys in school.

(Medical):Dale died when he fell from the back of a pick-up truck.

Military:
Dale served at San Diego for bootcamp and then spent the rest of his enlistment in Okinawa.

Hitchcock - Dale William Thompson, 35, of Hitchcock died Saturday at Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City.
Graveside services are 10am Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery in League City. The Rev J B Perkins will officiate. Burial will follow.
Visitation is set for 2pm Monday at James Crowder Funeral Home of La Marque.
Born Sept 24, 1954, in Denver, Colo, Mr. thompson was a truck driver for Landscape Services in La Marque. A resident of Hitchcock for 35 years, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Hitchcock and a veteran of the US Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Thompson of Hitchcock; parents, Harvey and Elaine Thompson of Hitchcock; daughter, Melanie [Melani] Annette Thompson of Dickinson; sons, Joshua Sweeting, Dale Allen [Alan] Thompson and Steven Brockman Thompson of Dickinson; and brothers, Douglas Wayne Thompson of Santa Fe, Damon Wade Thompson of Hitchcock and Eddie [Edward Dean] Thompson of Hitchcock.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Thompson, Damon Thompson, Kevin Cole, Alan Armstrong, Donald Curry and Gordy Thompson [Thomson].

Notes:

Douglas was one of the funniest people I ever met, he had a knack for making folks laugh. He spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver and then switched to heavy equipment so he could settle. He was in the rodeo club in high school but wasn't really a cowboy type. He never married but had relationships that made him an honorary father. He was the first person I met when I moved to Hitchcock and I will always consider him one of my best friends.

Douglas Wayne Thompson

Douglas Wayne Thompson was born December 14, 1956 in Denver, CO. and died of heart problems on Tuesday November 8th in Price, TX. He grew up in Hitchcock, TX.

He is survived by his girlfriend Anupa Arce, two brothers, Damon Thompson and Eddie Thompson (and wife Alicia), and nieces Melani Corbin, Mandy Williams, Candy Young, Amy Silva and nephews Dale Thompson, Steven Thompson, and Damon Thompson Jr.

There will be a memorial gathering Saturday, December 3rd from 1 p.m. until dark at Highlands Pavilion in Jack Brooks Park in Hitchcock, TX. Donations will be accepted to help the family pay burial costs and can be mailed to: Steven Thompson, 827 Wyndham Pl., Arlington,Tx. 76017.

Notes:

I didn't know Damon as well as the other boys. He was quieter around me and I didn't spend much time around him. He was equally quick-witted and funny and was a wonderful uncle to my children.

Being the youngest brother of three rowdy boys could not have been easy for Eddie but he was, in fact, quite personable and family-oriented. He was too young to hang out with Alan and I but was a best friend to David and Scott. We called him Skettie when he was young and then Big Ed and finally Big Head, a nickname that we still used at the time of his passing.
A story from Elaine: When she went into labor with Eddie, she went to the old hospital in Texas City. That hospital had a clinic in front and the actual hospital was across the alley in the back. The nurse put her on a gurney and pushed her out the back door of the clinic and Eddie was born in the alley before they could get through the doors of the hospital.
His name was supposted to have been Dean Walter but they decided they had enough DWTs so they made it Edward Dean.

Edward "Eddie" Dean Thompson, 55, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015, at his home in Hitchcock, TX. Eddie was born in Texas City, TX to Harvey and Elaine Thompson on June 1, 1960. He has been a resident of Hitchcock for most of his life.
Eddie was known as a hard worker but in his off time he loved to fish, spend time with the kids and be harassed by his dog Peanut. He was the youngest of 4 boys and knew how to be tough, but he was also a very tenderhearted man who loved his family dearly.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Dale Thompson and Douglas Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Alicia Thompson; three daughters Mandy Williams and husband Shannon, Candy Young, Amy Silva and husband Daniel; brother Damon Thompson and wife Anupa; five grandchildren: Alyssa Williams, Madison Williams, Benjamin Silva, Rylan Williams and Gabrielle Silva and one on the way Camdyn Danielle Williams; one niece: Melani Corbin and three nephews: Dale Thompson, Steven Thompson and Damon Thompson, Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Living Faith Assembly of God in La Marque, TX with Kevin Herrin Officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, Texas.

"Bubba" Our beloved son, father, husband, and friend John Wesley Combs, Jr., age 50, of Spicewood,then Rosanky, passed way unexpectedly Thursday, October 11, 2007. He was born August 17, 1957 in Texas City, Texas. He grew up in Spicewood, Texas. He graduated from Dripping Springs High School in 1975. Ater graduation he worked with his father in his construction business to later start his own for 8 years before moving to Buda, Texas, and beginning his career with the City of Austin Water and Wastewater Department in 1989. He married his wife, Theresa E. Combs, in 1977 amd together had seven children. Daughter, Leisa Michelle and her husband Mark Murphy, their children Taylor Nicole, Paige Alexandra, and Ethan Hunter; Son, Bradley Joe; Daughter, Amanda Sue and her husband David Dronet; daughter, Katherine "Kate" Marie and her fiance'Jamey Gage; daughter Ashley Lyn; and daughter, Annette Lea. He is also survived by his parents, John Wesley Combs, Sr.and Marjorie Ailene Thompson Combs; sister, Debbie Bindseil, and her husband Johnnie Bindseil, niece, Jeannie and her husband Chad Hunter, nephew Ricky and his wife Sara and children; brother Charles "Chucky" Combs and many other family and friends. Although I've been trying to prepare myself for this for 40 years, it still hurts more than I have words to tell.
