I think I've figured this out. James was living with George and Elizabeth and met Elzabeth's sister, Melissa. They also have a brother, P M Blake, who may be a twin to Melissa. Their mother remarried to a man name BLUE and had at least one more child, Margaret Blue. Sarah Blue is their mother, James and George's mother-in-law.

Obituary:

James Coon was born in Columbus County, Ohio, February 21, 1811, and departed this life January 23, 1897, aged 85 years, 11 months and 2 days. Deceased was married in Wisconsin in 1856 to Nina Blake, from which union were born seven daughters and two sons, all except one girl living to mourn the loss of a father. Mr. Coon moved to Iowa in 1876 where he has made his home until his death. Funeral services at the home of his son, Reese Coon, living south of Correctionville, conducted by George N. Thompson on January 24, 1897. Burial was made in the Correctionville Cemetery.

James married Nina Melissa BLAKE in 1856 in , , Wisconsin, USA. Nina (daughter of James BLAKE and Sarah JORDAN) was born on 9 Nov 1828 in , , Virginia, USA; died on 1 Sep 1915 in Correctionville, Woodbury, Iowa, USA; was buried on 3 Sep 1915 in Correctionville, Woodbury, Iowa, USA. After a short illness, Mrs. Sarah Patterson of Sioux City passed to her eternal reward about 6 o'clock Friday afternoon. Sarah Jane Coon was born in Spring Green, Wisconsin, January 4, 1867, and passed away Friday, October 13, 1935, at he age of 78 years, 9 months and 7 days. She was married to David True in 1882 and lived in California a short period, returning to Iowa and living near Washta until Mr. True passed away, leaving his wife and 4 daughters. All survive their mother's death but one, Sylvia Wright. Later in life, Mrs. True was married to Henry Patterson who died a number of years later. Mrs. Patterson was a true Christian woman and was kind and loving to all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her death three daughters, Cecelia True and Wyreka Streeter of Sioux City, and Mrs. Lucy Conley of Corning; also two sisters and one brother, Mrs. John Kenyon, Mrs. Thomas Clark and Mr. Reese Coon, all of Correctionville. Funeral services were held in the Church of Christ in Correctionville with Rev. Milton W. Dills, the minister, in charge at 1 o'clock Monday, October 21, and burial was made in Oak Hill Cemetery at Anthon.

Obituary:

Another aged resident of this community has answered the last summons, leaving another vacancy in the pioneer ranks. He lived to see the development of this section and knew well the hardships and privations endured by the earlier pioneers. Reese Coon, son of James and Nina Coon, was born April 14, 1861, at Spring Green, Wisconsin, and passed away after a lingering illness of two years on July 29, 1946, at a nursing home in Sioux City at the age of 85 years.
When a boy of fourteen he moved with his parents to a farm near Correctionville, and spent the remainder of his life in this vicinity. The family came in a covered wagon to the middlewest when it was little more than a wild rolling prairie.
During the many months of his sickness he was a very patient sufferer and was never heard to complain or speak unkindly to anyone, but was always thankful for every little kindness shown him.
Mr. Coon never married. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. John Kenyon of Correctionville and Mrs. Thomas Clark of Cherokee, also a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death a number of years ago by his parents, five sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held at the Wilson-Hull Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, July 31. The services were conducted by Rev. Coad Batho of Holstein. Mrs. Ed Robinson sang "Rock of Ages" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" with Mrs. Thelma Frost at the piano. Mrs. Wayne Camarigg, Mrs. Glen Camarigg and Mrs. Alex Thompson had charge of flowers. The pallbearers were Orville Bentley, Albert Kraft, Bob Rowse, Andy Trimble, Roy Stines and Charles Casey. Burial was made in the Correctionville Cemetery.

The death of Mr. George Coon occurred at 10 o'clock Monday evening following an illness of several months. Mr. Coon was born in Wisconsin in the year of 1863. He died at Correctionville May 17, 1920, his age at the time of his death being 56 years, 9 months and 20 days. He is a member of the Evangelical church, of which he was a good and faithful worker. He was kind and loving to all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his death, one brother and five sisters, Mr. Reese Coon, Mrs. John Kenyon, Mrs. William Pilkerton, Mrs. Sarah Patterson of Correctionville, Mrs. Thomas Clark and Mrs. John Clark of Canada. He also leaves an extensive circle of friends who will remember him as being kind and generous to all.

Mrs. Thomas Clark, 89, died Thursday after a two-month illness.
Mrs. Clark had been a resident of Cherokee since 1942, moving here from Correctionville.
Survivors include two sons, John of Cherokee and Fred of Aurelia; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Kenyon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Boothby funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
